Kid's Ministry

Our Vision: Partnering with Parents

At Walnut Creek, we believe that discipleship begins at home. Our mission is to come alongside parents as they raise their children in the ways of Jesus. We recognize that parents are the primary spiritual influencers in their kids’ lives, and our desire is to equip and empower them in this vital role.

What Does Partnership Look Like?

Relationships Matter

We value relationships. Our leaders are committed to living transformed lives themselves. We seek to model a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus, and we encourage our parents to do the same. When we prioritize our own spiritual growth, we can better guide our children on their faith journey.

Creating a Culture of Connection

Our ministry culture revolves around relationships. From the moment you step into our kids’ area, you’ll notice that relationship-building is at the core of what we do. We encourage our team to speak the language of love, grace, and encouragement. Whether it’s during drop-off, pickup, or special events, we want every interaction to be marked by genuine care.

Individual Focus

Every child matters. We don’t just teach en masse; we recognize that each child has unique needs. Whether it’s a child going through a tough time at home or one who’s struggling with a specific issue, we aim to focus on each child individually. Our small groups, mentoring relationships, and prayer support all contribute to this personalized approach.

Equipping Parents

We provide resources, tools, and encouragement to parents. Our goal is to empower parents to lead their children spiritually. Through workshops, seminars, and practical tips, we help parents navigate the challenges of raising godly kids. We believe that discipleship happens best when parents are actively involved.

Junior Church

At Walnut Creek, we are passionate about raising young disciples who love Jesus and grow in their faith. Our Junior Church is more than just a Sunday program; it’s a place where kids encounter God, build relationships, and learn to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

Infant & Toddler Nurseries

We maintain clean and fully staffed nurseries for newborn through three-year-old children for all church services. We also utilize pagers, check-in, and check-out procedures. All of our nursery workers are carefully chosen and background checked to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for each child.

Awana

At Walnut Creek, we’re excited about our Awana program, where kids grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and learn to follow Jesus. Let’s dive into how Awana equips kids for their discipleship journey:

Cubbies

Cubbies® nurtures the budding faith of preschoolers and celebrates their desire to explore all that God has created. This two year preschool ministry curriculum features exciting games, storytelling, puppet shows, and biblical teaching as well as take-home activities and tools.

Sparks

Sparks® ignites a child’s curiosity about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. This three year early elementary school ministry curriculum features exciting games, engaging activities, biblical teaching and media resources for kids and leaders.

Truth & Training

T&T® explores the concept of grace by focusing on the character and nature of God, identity of Christ, as well as the structure and format of the Bible. This four year upper elementary school ministry curriculum is created to ensure that kids and leaders connect through God’s Word.
